Christopher Nolan Giving Up On Batman 3?

"The man that brought back fear and respect to the tarnished cape and cowl might be stepping back from the third Batman installment. It's almost hard to imagine a Bale Batman flick without Christopher Nolan.

Batman-on-Film is quoting its Batman film source — who is often spot-on about these things — claiming Nolan is ready to part with the WB on the next Batman movie, and there isn't much we can do about it, other than maybe threaten to blow up some hospitals.

'The death of Heath Ledger in January of 2008 rocked Mr. Nolan hard. So hard that Chris was convinced that TDK was going to be it for him and Batman on film.'

They're also saying that the loss not only impacted the director emotionally, but it also completely changed the story for the third film, which was set to feature the Joker heavily. The film now stands devoid of a main villain, and the writers [Goyer and Jonathan Nolan] are at 'square one.'

I hope they can get it together. Nolan did so much for the bat, I want to see him finish it out strong and as he always envisioned. He hasn't steered us wrong yet."

Daily Deals: Mario Power Tennis for less than $20

Amazon has a good deal on Mario Power Tennis.

Power Tennis incorporates multiple characters, themes, and locations from the Mario series. The game includes standard tennis matches, but contains variants that feature different scoring formats and objectives. Other variants include "Gimmick" courts, thematic areas with components and properties that directly affect gameplay. The game consists of 18 playable characters, each categorised by their style of play and each with a pair of unique moves known as "Power Shots". Power Tennis was developed simultaneously with Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour, and the pair shared similar technology and concepts with each other during production. Such similarities include an emphasis on the Mario theme in characters and settings as well as alternative game modes such as "Ring Shot".

The game was positively received in general, attaining an aggregate score of 81 percent from Game Rankings and 80 percent from Metacritic. Critics praised the game's depth and variety, but criticised the Power Shot animations, which could not be skipped.

Metroid: Other M takes place between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion?

Metroid co-creator Yoshio Sakamoto has said he'd 'encourage' Retro Studios - developer of the Metroid Prime games - to come up with another idea for the series.

'With regards to the Prime series, if the team at Retro comes up with an idea that does bring a sequel to the series to fruition, I by all means encourage them to do that,' he said.

'But I'm not directly involved with the Prime games. In terms of the Metroid series stories that I've told, the games that I've been involved in, I started with the NES Metroid and took it through Fusion.

'I'm hoping to tie the Super Metroid and Fusion stories together, and until I do that I can't think about what happens after Fusion, but if the concept does come to me I'd like to continue the story and see how far it can go,' he told Wired.

Sakamoto also spoke of his aims with the upcoming (and sweet-looking) Metroid Other M. 'Within the greater Metroid series, the Other M story will tie together the stories that took place in Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion,' he said.

'One of my goals is to present Samus as an appealing human character, and that involves explaining a little bit about what happened in her past as well as the characters that influenced her. The story will play a big part.'

Khan!!! goes to prison for murder and Wii-theft

A MAN from West Yorkshire who beat his ex-girlfriend to death in her home was today jailed for life after being found guilty of her murder.
Suleman Khan, 24, stamped on Amy Booth's head with such force that the soles of his trainers left an imprint on her face, Bradford Crown Court heard.

He made off with a flat screen television and a Nintendo Wii games console after the attack, which happened at Miss Booth's home in Wellington Place, New Road, Halifax, in December last year.

Khan, of Dunkirk Terrace, Halifax, who was also convicted of robbery, was told he would spend at least 20 years in prison.

The court heard that he had been jailed for five months in 2007 for a similar assault on Miss Booth.

Detective Superintendent Chris Thompson, of West Yorkshire Police, who led the murder inquiry, said: "This was a very difficult case for all of those concerned with the investigation into this senseless and brutal assault against a young and vibrant young woman.

"Bringing Khan to justice was a real team effort involving skilled and dedicated officers from the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, divisional CID, the Forensic Science Service, Crown Prosecution Service and prosecution barrister.

"This was a meticulous investigation and the evidence against Khan was overwhelming, but despite this he subjected Amy's family to a difficult and traumatic trial.

"In court Khan claimed Amy had provoked the attack but he was a violent and controlling bully whose sole motivation for this, and an earlier attack in March 2007, was to punish her."

Divisional Crown Prosecutor for Calderdale Jane Cryer said: "This was a vicious attack on a young woman in her own home and we extend our deepest condolences to Amy's family and friends. We have worked closely with West Yorkshire Police from the outset.

"We realize that nothing can heal the pain of Amy's family and friends but we hope that this successful prosecution brings some measure of comfort to them.

"The conviction of Amy's killer within six months of her death is due in no small part to the professionalism, commitment and hard work of those involved in every stage of this prosecution.

"It is some small satisfaction to see that justice has been served in this case."

Mansoor Ahmed, 28, of Mayfield Drive, King Cross, Halifax, who had also been accused of Miss Booth's murder and robbery, was acquitted by the jury.

Nintendo Sees No Reason to Upgrade the Wii to HD

Image from WiiUsers.net
The Nintendo Wii is one of the most popular consoles on the market. It introduced new motion controllers and concepts that are now being copied by its rivals, but in terms of technology it is nothing more than an upgraded GameCube, which is blatant when you compare it to the Xbox 360 or PlayStation 3.

However, there has been a big amount of speculation on when the Wii will eventually get HD and be on par with its main rivals on the market. Analysts pegged the change around 2010-2011, but it now seems that the president of the company, Satoru Iwata, doesn't share that optimistic view.

He recently talked to VentureBeat about the HD upgrade of the Wii and revealed that: “If we have an opportunity to make a new console, it will probably support HD because it is now common throughout the world. However, as far as the Wii is concerned, we have not found a significant reason to make it HD-compatible at this time.”

The executive went on to say that: “What is the significant meaning to the users? I don't think we should do it unless we find that reason. If we decide for other reasons to make new hardware, then HD is one of the things we would naturally add. As for timing, it may be three years from now, five years from now or eight years from now.”

It's worth taking into account the fact that analog broadcasts in Japan stop in 2011, meaning that an HD Wii might be possible around that time or very close after it. Nothing is for sure though, as Nintendo was always very independent when it came to its hardware releases.

Hopefully, we will see a Wii capable of much nicer graphics in the near future, in order for the console to sell even better around the world.

Futurama to Return with New Episodes on Comedy Central

"Good news everybody! An inside source has revealed exclusively to Collider that “Futurama” has been given a 13 episode order by Comedy Central. Though still technically a rumor at this point, word is that “Futurama” production offices have already opened and that casting is about to move forward.

This should be a welcome surprise to fans of the show who have already gone through the series’ cancellation and resurrection as direct-to-DVD movies.

Look for official word in the very near future. Though animation has a big lead time, I would guess on some kind of “Futurama” presence at Comic Con next month.

If you’re excited by the news, say it in the comments below!"

If you are like me, you like Futurama. A lot. Kudos to Comedy Central for good decision! Below is a clip from Futurama, Enjoy!

Cast talks SGU in new SCI FI promo | Stargate Universe

The SCI FI Channel has debuted a new teaser trailer for Stargate Universe, the spin-off coming to television this October! The 45-second video shows the longest portions of scenes available so far, as well as cast members talking about what makes SGU

different from its predecessors.

Watch the video now at SciFi.com, or at the bottom of this story.

SGU is about survival, more than anything else,” actor Robert Carlyle said in the video. Carlyle plays Nicholas Rush, a scientist charged with the task of unlocking the Stargate’s unused ninth chevron — then finding a way back when the team is stranded on the Ancient ship Destiny.

“These are real stories, and real people with real concerns,” Lou Diamond Phillips (”Colonel Telford”) said.

The teaser also features longer looks at scenes from episodes such as “Air,” the 3-part series premiere — such as a discussion between Telford and Camille Wray (Ming-Na), a kiss for Tamara Johansen (Alaina Huffman), and a desert planet that the team visits (recently filmed at White Sands, New Mexico).

“It’s going to have a different look,” actor Brian J. Smith said. Smith’s character is Lt. Matthew Scott, a military greenhorn who must rise to the occasion as a leader of the deep-space castaways. “It’s going to have a different feel. It’s going to be written a different way.”

The teaser also features brief comments from Ming-Na (”Wray”) and actress Elyse Levesque (”Chloe Armstrong”), who talk about the show’s emphasis on its characters — telling stories of human will, hope and faith.

Check out SciFi.com for the new video. For more on Stargate Universe all summer long, keep your browser locked on GateWorld.net/Universe! The show is expected to premiere on Friday, October 2 in the U.S., and soon thereafter on SPACE in Canada and Sky1 in the U.K.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl stage builder exploit discovered!

A new exploit for the Nintendo Wii was discovered today and it seems this one is quite difficult for Nintendo to patch. The exploit found by comex explores a vulnerability in Super Smash Bros. Brawl's stage builder code to run arbitrary homebrew code. So what's the difference between this and the others released before?

This is different from other exploit because this one does not go through the System Menu, and as of this time, Nintendo has no method on the Wii for patching games. Currently it will load an elf file from /boot.elf on the SD card.

To use use the exploit, all you have to do is delete all the custom stages of SSBB on your Wii, then copy over the file. When you enter the stage builder menu, it will automatically run /boot.elf on SD. The coder says that the exploit will be released soon, in the meantime, watch the video below to see the exploit in action.

Eminem Gets Some Ass at the VMAs

Dressed in a pair of feathery white wings with his rear end mostly exposed, the comedian crashed into an overhead obstacle and was lowered directly into Eminem's lap in the audience, his hindquarters in the rapper's face.

"Is the real Slim Shady about to stand up?" chirped Bruno.

Eminem seemed visibly upset by the encounter and members of his entourage roughly removed Baron Cohen as Eminem struggled to get out. But it was unclear if Bruno and MTV wound up the rapper, or if he in on the elaborate joke.

Eminem acted visibly upset at the mishap, saying: "Get this (expletive) off me" and turning his face away in disgust. He then stormed out with his entourage in tow - and cameras rolling - and beat a path for the exits.

Bruno's descent to the audience was included in earlier rehearsals, but Eminem did not take part in that piece of the run-through.

As the rapper stormed off it sounded as though he was wearing a microphone, and cameras were in position to record his fast exit, but he was not seen or heard from again.

The rapper had earlier performed a medley of two tracks from his latest album Relapse.
