Browsershots Tests Your Site Design in Many Browsers

This is a very useful tool to make sure your website is accessible across the array of browsers available past and present.
"Browsershots makes screenshots of your web design in different browsers. It is a free open-source online service created by Johann C. Rocholl. When you submit your web address, it will be added to the job queue. A number of distributed computers will open your website in their browser. Then they will make screenshots and upload them to the central server."

Md. Scientists Build Bacterial Chromosome

New DNA research provides some compelling and possibly scary results: "Scientists in Maryland yesterday said they had built from scratch an entire microbial chromosome, a loop of synthetic DNA carrying all the instructions that a simple cell needs to live and reproduce.

The feat marks the first time that anyone has made such a large strand of hereditary material from off-the-shelf chemical ingredients. Previous efforts had yielded DNA strands less than one-twentieth the size, and those pieces lacked many of the key biological programs that tell a cell how to stay alive.

On the basis of earlier experiments, the researchers believe the new, full-length loop would spontaneously 'boot up' inside a cell, just as a downloaded operating system can awaken a computer -- a potentially historic event that would amount to the creation of the first truly artificial life form.

Team members emphasized that they have not done that yet but expressed confidence that they would do so before the end of the year."

It was also said that more internet radios have been added into the list. The website, for those who aren't aware, is a music service provider that lets users store and protect their MP3 collection online.

One of its features include the Locker that comes in Free Edition and the much flexible Premium version. According to the press release sent to us, streaming from Lockers can now be done using the Nintendo Wii and the PlayStation 3, not to mention the several other mobile devices. MP3tunes wrote:

Consumers shouldn't be limited in where or how they enjoy their personal music collections, and we will continue to announce new ways MP3tunes is fulfilling its vision of giving people access to all of their music, anywhere they go.

The Premium edition of the Locker allows users to manage larger music files, full access to album cover art, and full customer support access. The Free version, on the other hand, is ad-supported.
